Mural

Our Town Upland is currently lending its support to TenBoom as it seeks to develop land in Upland’s downtown corridor for the community to use and enjoy. We are also planning and raising funds for a large-scale mural to welcome folks to Upland and create a sense of place and distinction in the downtown area.

About Our Town Upland

The group Our Town Upland began in 1993 when a few interested citizens made it a goal to honor Upland’s history by purchasing the town’s historic train depot, which had been moved to Muncie decades earlier, and to establish a park to house the depot and, eventually, a train car that was used on that railway. In its inception in 1993, Our Town Upland’s purpose was to “promote tourism, commerce, educational, and charitable activities within the town of Upland, Indiana.”

Today, Our Town Upland is a group of Upland citizens who care about our community. We love and believe in Upland—the small-town history, the possibilities for its future, and the clubs, groups, and organizations that make it a great place to live. We want to make Upland even better, so we strategize, partner together, and work for the good of all. Each member of Our Town Upland brings their own ideas, talents, and strengths to the group to make our events and our partnerships even stronger.

Our Town Upland works with other volunteer groups—including the Chamber of Commerce, the Lion’s Club, the Upland Greenways Committee, the Garden Club, the Upland Historical Society, and the Parks Department—to connect volunteers where needed and generate ideas for growth
